Quitting jobs may have more of an impact than you think

Many people at some point in their life end up in a job that they don’t enjoy. It may be that the job role has changed, the management staff have changed or simply that you do not find the job rewarding or challenging any more. Before you quit your job, there are some points to consider.

Most people who are working cannot afford to be out of work for too long, so you either need to have another job lined up that you can start almost immediately or you need to be able to save enough money to see you through a few months of not working.

Quitting jobs can not only have a financial impact but you may also jeopardise future job opportunities and may not look great on a CV. If you leave a job quite soon after you have started or have had a large number of jobs over a short space of time this may look bad to potential employers and they may not want to take a risk employing you as you may seem to be unreliable.

Before quitting a job, try and work out why you are not happy and see if there is anything you can do about it first as getting employment isn’t always as easy as it seems.
