How to perform well in an interview

Posted on March 28, 2019 at 1:29 pm

So you sent off your CV and applied for the job that you have wanted for a while. Then comes the dreaded wait time that you have to endure to find out if you have been successful at the first stage and are going to be invited to attend an interview.

If an employer likes the content on your CV and thinks that you have the skills and qualifications needed to fill the position they will probably invite you in for an interview.

When it comes to interviews you do need to do a certain amount of preparation in order to feel confident and make sure that the interview is a success. If you often feel anxious about interviews then preparing can help to overcome this and make you feel more relaxed which in turn will probably make you come across better during the process.

Simple steps such as re-reading through your CV and ensuring that you can explain anything on there will really help. If there is a gap in your employment for example, then be prepared to be asked about it and have a response ready that will satisfy their concerns.

Planning what to wear for an interview is essential, as panicking about your outfit on the day of the interview will get you flustered and may even make you late, which is never a good start.
